Does the new Spore expansion, creepy and cute, delete your already saved data?

I was wondering if the new Spore expansion, creepy and cute, deletes the data you already had on the game... I've gotten really far in my game, and would hate losing my data, but I want the expansion.... I think the Sims games deleted your data when you installed a new expansion, didn't they? So will spore also?Does the new Spore expansion, creepy and cute, delete your already saved data?
