Video Game - SPORE Galactic Edition?

What is the different between the game Spore and Spore Galactic Edition??

the Galactic Edition has a white box which is different from the normal one

i am buying this for my girlfriend. Does the Galactic Edition include the original game? or its just some expansion pack or advance programs without the original game in it?

Galactic has everything in the original, but there is a few extra things in there that really have nothing to do with the game play
